Hotel MeyrickHotel Meyrick is a beautiful venue located in the centre of Galway city. It has stood proudly on Eyre Square since 1852. An excellent location for a wedding with grand rooms and fantastic staff it offered everything Patricia & Cathal could have asked for on their wedding day.
The Perfect Wedding Day at Hotel MeyrickThe day was perfect, blue and sunny skies throughout. Which is what every bride wishes for on her wedding day, am I right? We took full advantage of it for photos, every chance we got from morning to sunset. I captured the morning shots in Patricia's back garden. When I asked her if I could hang her dress from the tree, there wasn't even the slightest hesitation, my kind of bride! It turned out the tree is very special to her dad, so this made for a little bit of sentiment. Patricia and the girls were ready with plenty of time to spare. So we took this opportunity to enjoy a few photos in the garden and a little champers before heading to the church.
The Ceremony and Bridal ShootBelclare church is beautiful as it's facing out onto a lake. It made a beautiful backdrop for the family photos. I loved the high nelly waiting outside, very quirky as were all the little decorations that adorned the inside and outside of the church. Patricia and Cathal were quite relaxed and at ease with each other all day and during the shoot. This made for some lovely moments to capture. we headed to an abbey not too far from the hotel for the photoshoot. The bridal party were also in great spirits. The groomsmen were treated to a little tipple in funky hip flasks. It never hurts sure ha!
Reception EntertainmentDuring the reception at The Hotel Meyrick, guests were treated to a little surprise of opera singing by Duo Vocis. These two very talented gentlemen entered the reception during dessert and lifted the whole room into song. Everyone took part in singing and twirling napkins and it was fantastic. It really enhanced the energy in the room after the meal and I even found myself singing along.
